Winners of the Car Design Awards China winners describe their internships

With the 2015 Car Design Awards China now launched and open to entries, we caught up with some of the winners of the 2014 edition to find out about their current internships.Four of those we spoke to had the unique opportunity to pack their bags and head west to Detroit’s CCS college in the US to take part in its annual Cultural Immersion Workshop, while two others were placed in the Shanghai studios of Geely and Qoros. 阅读中文请点击这里Here they describe the highlights of their experiences so far, in their own words: Name Guo JiayiInternship CCS, Detroit USAge 23Home town BeijingSchool CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts) "The most interesting part of my internship was working with professional designers from different countries, exchanging ideas and learning from each other. Each of us has a different point of view and style, so looking at the combination of the American and other cultures is very interesting.

Jaguar F-Type: ‘Desire’ the movie released

A part of that has seen Jaguar rope in Lana del Rey as a headline act for the launch and as the chanteuse on a new short film commissioned by Jaguar from Ridley Scott Associates to feature the F-Type in a dramatic role in a half-decent short film. Now, with the new F-Type finally in dealer showrooms in the UK, the pieces of the puzzle have come together and ‘Desire’ has premiered at the London Sundance Festival, and you can view it below. Starring the Ginger Etonian – better known as Damien Lewis and dressed by Burburrey (every penny helps) - Shannyn Sossamon and Jordi Mollà, Desire is a story of “real adventure; a story of betrayal, retribution, passion and greed.”  We hope that’s not meant to encapsulate the F-Type’s target customers.

New 2015 Skoda Fabia revealed – well, sort of

The design sketch of the 2015 Skoda Fabia We’re not entirely sure we can consider the design sketch of the new Skoda Fabia (above) as a reveal of Skoda’s supermini, but it is a clue to what we can expect when the new Fabia arrives in the coming weeks. Skoda tell us that the new Fabia will be taking its design cues from the Vision C Concept we saw at Geneva – and the new Octavia –  and that is a new direction for Skoda  with added width and a flatter body creating, say Skoda, more harmonious proportions. Of course, the design sketch of the new Fabia has the usual artistic license to make it more dynamic than the reality will be, with the end product when it arrives likely to look much like a smaller version of Skoda’s latest efforts.
